Spatial Vision and ThinkPlace form partnership

ThinkPlace joins forces with Spatial Vision

Geospatial information is the underpinning infrastructure for a wide range of societal challenges expressed in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, from renewable energy and smart transportation to accessible education and equitable society.

At ThinkPlace, as strategic human-centred designers who have adopted the Sustainable Development Goals as our guiding light in every project we do, we are excited to join forces with Geospatial science and technology experts, Spatial Vision and its IT brand, Lapis.

Spatial Vision delivers end-to-end location technology services to help organisations unlock deeper, more meaningful insights. For over 20 years, the company has provided specialist IT, data analytics, visualisation, and software engineering services together with strategic consulting to deliver robust, complex solutions worldwide.

With ThinkPlace’s world-leading capability in human-centered design and co-design as well as leading-edge thinking in innovation, digital design and behaviour change design, this alliance will facilitate regular sharing of expertise and resources to allow joint bids for work, creating compelling advantages for both companies and potential clients.

“This agreement sets up both companies for an exciting period of future growth and allows us to continue on our trajectory of executing at scale without sacrificing the attention to detail and methodological innovation that have helped drive our success,” said ThinkPlace Global Chairman John Body.

“With ThinkPlace's expertise in human-centred design and the technical software development expertise of Spatial Vision/Lapis, this collaboration will result in a substantial service offering to the market. The two companies share many of the same values such as our focus on our customers, and the importance of teamwork, collaboration and transparency. We expect this partnership will be extremely effective for both companies as well as our clients,” said Spatial Vision Managing Director Glenn Cockerton.

“Both are active across the health sector and in areas such as emergency management, local government and utilities. We have identified clear benefits in working together and believe the skills and capabilities each partner brings to the agreement will complement the other and make both parties stronger overall.”

The health sector will be an early focus for the new collaboration, with planning already underway to create internal mapping and wayfinding improvements through digital tools.

The new partnership is built on a strong mutual worldview. Both companies share a foundational commitment to working for a better world, as demonstrated by their adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for pursuing and delivering positive impact.

Spatial Vision  provides industry-leading expertise in areas such as geospatial services, app and software development as well as data analysis and visualisation. The company employs a diverse team of specialists including cartographers, solution architects, consultants, app/web designers, software developers, GIS analysts, and data scientists. The company has built sector-leading expertise in areas such as geospatial services, app and software development as well as data analysis and visualisation.

Spatial Vision’s commercial IT solutions business Lapis is also a party to the MOU. The business leverages extensive experience in developing flexible, scalable solutions to respond to the complex needs of both public and private sector organisations.

All parties share a commitment to planning and executing projects according to a bespoke form of Agile methodology that delivers outstanding flexibility, efficiency and adaptability for clients.

“We are very careful about who we form partnerships with and I know that Spatial Vision has a similar mindset,” John Body said. “We are really confident that this MOU will allow us to do great work together but, just as importantly, for each party to learn and benefit from the deep expertise of the other.”
