Caitlin has a fascination with the complexity of the world, and the way that vast systems affect individual lives. This fascination led to her completing honours in cultural anthropology at the Australian National University. She now turns that spark of interest towards creating impact by untangling tangled problems through human-centered design.
Her first class honours thesis examined the structural and cultural causes of customers behaving abusively towards retail staff, taking an example of everyday violence and zooming out to bring it into the context of complex structures and cultural histories. Her experience in anthropology has exposed her to multiple qualitative research methods, giving her an understanding of the capabilities of different methods and their applications towards different problems.
Caitlin also worked as a science communicator for five years and has extensive experience in synthesizing and conveying complex ideas to mixed audiences. Her other passion is for digital art, where she has developed skills in representing concepts in a visual format.
