George is a designer with particular expertise in research. She moved to Wellington from London in 2018, where she spent 3 years conducting rich, deep-dive ethnographic research into a variety of important areas, such as the lived experience of long-term health conditions, the debt cycle in low-socioeconomic areas, and how young people feel about themselves and the world. George also spent some time in the digital design space, helping to re-build the website of UK Parliament from the ground-up with real people in mind.
Since moving to Aotearoa New Zealand, George has grappled with equally important subjects; ensuring everyone has warm and healthy homes, improving the wellbeing of rangatahi, bringing the voice of the worker into hazardous workplace environments, making the lives of farmers and growers easier through concise and clear regulatory guidelines, and stemming the tide of long-term conditions.
George is absolutely passionate about reducing avoidable deaths as a result of poor mental and physical health. She believes that everyone has the right to a healthy body and mind; breaking down the complex web of barriers that lead to poor mental and physical health is the goal that drives her.
