Ana is a highly experienced designer and facilitator with a background in humanitarian healthcare across a broad range of contexts. With her passion for people, she harnesses her strengths and talent to learn, practice and facilitate innovative, desirable products and services to users. Ana's motto reflects her agile and embracing attitude towards solving, or better said, managing complex problems.
She developed a pioneering and solid experience on product, service and systems design in the field of humanitarian healthcare by mobilizing synergies between the private sector, humanitarian practitioners, researchers and design professionals. Over the last decade, Ana has worked in Europe, East Africa and the US, developed curricula to mentor numerous international and diverse teams and worked closely with community and organization intrapreneurs to deliver design-based healthcare interventions in conflict and protracted displacement settings.
Ana’s strength lies at driving organizational change by being results oriented, by successfully navigating the complex nature of human beings and humanitarian work and by leveraging individual capacities to reach their best potential. She holds a PhD in medical design engineering from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, was a panelist and speaker in over 15 conferences worldwide and published her research in scientific journals about intersection of health and design.
